Toad-
Toad is is a humanoid mushroom in the Mario series of video games. Toad is the general collective name of the "Mushroom People" found in the Mushroom Kingdom, who are a sapient antropomorphic race with a peaceful and human-following monarchistic culture. The first time Toad ever appeared in a video game was in Super Mario Bros. and served as Princess Peach's guard. The character Toad is also the chief retainer of the Mushroom Kingdom. The Mushroom People that live in Mushroom Kingdom are similar to Toad. Toad was created by Shigeru Miyamoto. Toad first appeared in the game Super Mario Bros. in 1995.

In Video Games-
Toad acts as a leader towards the beginning of the game in order for the player to learn some basic tutorial lessons. While his text box clearly shows that it is Toad who is speaking, his on screen appearance does not differ from the majority of the other mushroom guards. Toad is the main protagonist of Wario's Woods; his partners in this game are Birdo and Wanda. Toad was a playable character in Mario Tennis 64 as a technique player. When the later Mario Tennis game, Mario Power Tennis, came out, Nintendo decided not to bring Toad back into the game with Birdo, Baby Mario and Donkey Kong Jr., though he appeared as a cameo with Toadette in the opening movie. Toad is a playable racer in every Mario Kart and Mario Party DS. In Mario and Sonice at the Olymipc Games he is a referee along with Cream the Rabbit, among othersHe appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a sticker, trophy (Which claims he possesses superhuman strength) and as an attack for Princess Peach. Toad is a counter attack which releases spores if hit by another character. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl the attack is notably stronger than its Super Smash Bros. Melee counterpart and can even K.O. characters at higher percentages.
Toad appears in Super Paper Mario in four aspects of the game. He appears in the intro, telling Mario and Luigi that Princess Peach has been kidnapped. In "Super Mario 64", Toad appears at various points in Princess Peach's castle. If the player speaks to one, the Toad will give information about various things in the castle. Some Toads will even give the player a star. In Super Mario Galaxy, many Toads (as well as Toadette) appear at the beginning of the game, and later on, several Toads (but not Toadette) appear as the Toad Brigade, helping Mario on his quest to defeat Bowser and save Princess Peach. Running gags in the game are that the yellow Toad is almost always asleep, and that the Red Toad (the leader) is exceedingly cowardly.
Yellow Toad and Blue Toad will appear as playable characters in the upcoming New Super Mario bros. Wii, marking Toad's first playable appearance in a Mario platformer since Super Mario Bros. 2.
Voices-
Toad's voice is first heard in Mario Kart 64, which featured actor "Isaac Marshall". Jen Taylor continued to provide the voice of Toad until 2005, when Kelsey Hutchison and Samantha Kelly took over for games such as Super Mario Strikers and Super Mario Galaxy. Phrases used by Toad include Oh no, Ya-ha!, and Hey!, all in a croaking voice.
Appearance-
Toad wears white pants, a blue vest with gold lining, and brown shoes. He has black eyes and Tan Skin. His head is a white and red polka-dotted mushroom.
The End.
